“The preservation of the sacred fire of liberty and the destiny of the republican model of government are justly considered... deeply, ...finally, staked on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people.” -George Washington
On July 4th, 1776, a great nation was born declaring its independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. 233 years on, it is now known as the United States of America, a federal republic that has emerged a superpower and a leading nation setting a standard for all countries to follow. The cherished 4th July, the American Independence Day is here again to celebrate.
It's time for us all Americans to celebrate the spirit of liberty, equality, fraternity and pride that each one of us feel ourselves enthused with when it comes to basking in the glory of this great nation.
"The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil Constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors: they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood, and transmitted them to us with care and diligence. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men." -- Samuel Adams
